1. Introduction

Edge Network Limited ("Edge", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our services, website, and applications.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

  • Account information (name, email address, company name)
  • Billing information (payment method, billing address)
  • Communications (support tickets, emails, feedback)
  • Profile information (preferences, settings)

2.2 Information We Collect Automatically

When you use our services, we automatically collect:

  • Usage data (features used, actions taken)
  • Log data (IP address, browser type, access times)
  • Device information (hardware model, operating system)
  • Performance data (latency, errors, resource usage)

3. Edge Shield on Third-Party Websites

Edge Shield is our bot-protection service. When a website operator embeds Shield on their site, we process a limited set of technical data about that site's visitors on the operator's behalf, acting as a data processor, for the sole purpose of distinguishing human visitors from automated traffic. If you encountered Shield on a website that isn't ours, the operator of that website is responsible for telling you about its use in their own privacy notice.

3.1 What Shield Processes

  • IP address — used for short-window abuse-rate checks and to bind a verification token to the connection that earned it
  • Browser and request characteristics (user agent, request headers, TLS connection properties, network operator)
  • The hostname of the page embedding the widget
  • Summarised interaction statistics, such as counts and variability of pointer movements and key presses — never the content of what you type

3.2 What Shield Does Not Do

  • No cookies and no persistent identifiers are set
  • No tracking across websites, and no behavioural profiles are built
  • Raw mouse movements and keystrokes never leave your browser — only summary statistics are sent
  • Scores are computed fresh on each page load and discarded; nothing follows you to your next visit

This data is held only as long as the verification itself requires: tokens expire within minutes of being issued, and the short-lived operational records used for abuse-rate and replay protection are purged automatically. The legal basis for this processing is legitimate interest in preventing fraud, spam, and abuse.

A plain-language explanation for visitors is published at shield.edge.network/what-is-this. Website operators requiring a data processing addendum can contact privacy@edge.network.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our services
  • Process transactions and send related information
  • Send technical notices, updates, and support messages
  • Respond to your comments and questions
  • Monitor and analyse trends, usage, and activities

We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Edge Shield verification data is retained on much shorter cycles, as described in Section 3.

7. Security

9. Cookies

Our marketing website uses privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics, and Edge Shield sets no cookies anywhere it runs. Cookies are used only where they are functionally necessary — for example, to keep you signed in to your account in the control panel. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

10. International Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
